I'm preparing z3ext code ​for 1.1 release. Hope new release will be released in 1 week. Also i added OpenId support. and finally we started documentation project for z3ext http://docs.z3ext.net

About couple of months ago we did demo for one client.
we created simple skin​, no code changes, just css and templates.

Here another example. i ported iNove Wordpress Theme to z3ext. it is not released as egg,
but available from sourceforge.  it is not completed and probably wont be released as egg.
