I am trying to make bin/z3extproject sample

but reciving this error:

Hi,

I'm trying to install z3ext, but kept on failing with package version dependency hell (related to zope.location, zope.site, zope.lifecycleevent - and other packages that depends on them )

if i understood correctly, the process should be:

install z3extproject
use z3extproject to create a buildout
run buildout
start instance

am I'm doing it right ? .. or did i missed something?

i'm using python2.4 on a linux system. z3extproject was installed into a buildout ..

Hello,
I'm having a bit of a problem getting started with z3ext. Installing it using buildout is easy, but how to proceed from there? Is there some kind of "design overview" and maybe a list detailing the use of the included functionality? Maybe some best practices or notes for Plone refugees?

Default submit action on forms..

I noticed at least for wiki page, that hitting "Enter" in a single-line text field does not seem to, as many may expect, enact a 'save' action, but perhaps goes to 'Previous'. I lost one edit which I can't remember the content of, and almost another much bigger one due to this.

I know that Zope3 has a skin with some rough equivalence to much of the functionality of Zope2's ZMI, though I can't remember how to get to it now, either for default z3ext or grok setups.

I assume it is possible, but there is there some strategy or UI in the working to manage multiple z3ext sites in a single zope3 instance?

We've always done this with Plone, and esp with the functionality of so many Plone add-ons that we rely on provided default in z3ext, this should be even more natural!

Buildout and products on Sourceforge

Would like to test the products on https://z3ext.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/z3ext/Sandbox/sources/ and I am wondering how to arrange buildout to get these products working.

Principals other than Manager

Howdy!

I just setup a fresh copy of the z3ext buildout and created a principal for myself with all of the access I could see to give. I set the password initially, and after failing to login, went back as Manager and used the password reset form, which has confirmation.

I can't login as this principal, and don't seem to get a password reset mail, either.

I'm happy to help track down and solve these problems, just hoping to create discussion!

Auth plugins

I'm looking into work on LDAP and Facebook Connect auth for some custom apps coming up, and was thinking about trying to build a UI similar to PAS in Z2/CMF/Plone to configure plugins, probably starting by copying the mess that is LDAPMultiClusterFsck.

I noticed in the 1.0 release notes that while z3ext is considered relatively stable, it now needs developer documentation - which I second!

Any assistance provided here would be great motivation for me and perhaps others to help document based on how things are explained.
