How close are we to PAS in Z2/CMF/Plone?

I'm looking into work on LDAP and Facebook Connect auth for some custom apps coming up, and was thinking about trying to build a UI similar to PAS in Z2/CMF/Plone to configure plugins, probably starting by copying the mess that is LDAPMultiClusterFsck.
I noticed in the 1.0 release notes that while z3ext is considered relatively stable, it now needs developer documentation - which I second! Any assistance provided here would be great motivation for me and perhaps others to help document based on how things are explained. Best! Justin Re: Auth plugins

I can answer any questions about z3ext api. sadly i'm not documentation guy and main problem english is not my native language.
about other plugins, i'm working on openid plugin at the moment, so you will able login with facebook, google or any other openid provider. i'll release this package in couple days. actually it's already in svn, package name is z3ext.principal.openid also we have twitter auth plugin, code is working but we need to make it more user friendly :) Re: Auth plugins
