Hi!
I just installed z3ext as described by the http://z3ext.net main page. I guess to get anywhere interesting (right now it all looks very empty by default) I would need to login as an administrator. How do I add an initial administrator? Can you please point me to a area where such type of information can be found? Maybe in the source code or elsewhere? Thank you! Ben. Re: March Roadmap

Hello Ben,
1) You should first check 'System settings'. all basic settings are there just add '/settings/' to your portal url 2) User management also in system settings, '/settings/principals/' 3) Portlets - in content edit form. for example localhost/portal/context.html/presentation/ Re: March Roadmap

3) Workspaces also in content edit form. for example

Hi guys
I work for an Irish company OpenApp (www.openapp.ie). We have used z3ext for a few projects including our own company website. I didn't work on our website but my understanding is that in the version we used for that project the menu system was generated from folders. This seems to have changed in newer releases of z3ext with the introduction of the "spaces" concept. At the moment the menu seems to be generated by the names of the workspaces you have enabled for a space. Is the plan to be able to generate a top level menu from the spaces themselves. This would greatly help site navigation. Or is it possible to do that at the moment and I'm just missing something. Keep up the good work Cormac OpenApp.ie Re: March Roadmap

Does z3ext work with relational databases? If it does consider adding the community version of this application:
http://www.group-office.com/ It may be a lot of work but this office system rocks! Nice work on z3ext. I am looking forward to working with it. -Tim

by default z3ext uses zodb, but you can use any orm that works with zope3
about www.group-office.com everything is possible we just need free time and money :) we don't have developers docs for z3ext (we will try to fix this), so feel free to ask me about z3ext internals of architecture. |
